   March 27, 2006.

   World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-06) was held from 7 to 15 March of 2006 in Sheraton Conference Center, Doha, Qatar. There participated 969 delegates, including 820 governmental delegates from 132 countries, 4 delegates from Palestine, 93 delegates from public and private organizations from 31 countries and 14 delegates from national telecommunication companies from 9 countries as well as 38 delegates from 22 countries registered as observers.
   The conference main objective was working out of the strategic action plan and declaration adoption, which will create the basis for ITU (International Telecommunication Union) contribution in building of world information society available to everyone for the welfare of all its members. For effective conference work were created five committees and two work groups where were considered the programs and directives of activity, as well as strategic issues including overall policy and collaboration between states - ITU and Sector Members.
   The result of conference functioning was the Doha Action Plan adoption consisting of six programmes instilled in as the process catalyst for the creation of Single Information Space, as follows:
      1. Regulatory reform
      2. Information and communication infrastructure and technology development
      3. E-strategies and ICT applications
      4. Economics and financing, including cost and tariffs
      5. Human capacity building
      6. Least Developed Countries (LDC), Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Emergency Telecommunications
   The delegates from "AzEuroTel" JV, Mr. Farkhad Jafarov, Deputy General Director on Financial Issues and Mrs. Subi Gahramanzadeh, Head of Information Analytical Department took an active part in the conference functioning.
